Advanced Leadership Programme
September 28, 2022 @ 9:30 am - 4:30 pm
| £2,950.00Our Leadership Programme has been created by our Learning and Development team to deliver a course that truly develops delegates in all aspects of being an exemplary leader and manager in their organisation. It is designed to build on people management skills and organisational culture, to develop high performing teams led by inspiring leaders.
It is an all-round engaging programme filled with the latest research, trends and examples of excellence. The programme will inspire delegates, enabling them to be the best in their current roles and where desired, aspire towards more senior roles within their organisation.
The course is accredited by the world-recognised and respected Chartered Management Institute (CMI), with delegates having the opportunity to achieve a Level 5 qualification in Management and Leadership (details below)
Each learner will also benefit from an individual coach throughout the programme, with 3 coaching sessions during the course. The coaching will ensure the transfer of learning back to the workplace, assist in any difficulties and where relevant, make sure progress on assignments is going well and offer any guidance needed.
This programme is aimed at practicing or aspiring managers and leaders who are typically accountable to a senior manager or business owner, and whose primary role is to lead and manage individuals and teams to deliver aims and objectives in line with organisational strategy.
Programme Elements
The programme focuses around three key areas, and the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to perform in these three areas. For delegates doing the CMI qualification, they will complete an assignment based on each of the three areas. Throughout the programme delegates will be working on a work-based project, ensuring value added for their organisation. The project will be approved by the organisation before work commences, and part of this approval will be that it will be of value to the organisation.
Principles of Developing, Managing and Leading Individuals and Teams to Achieve Success (CMI Level 5 Unit 502)
The ability to lead individuals and teams to success is arguably the most important skill a manager can possess. This unit focuses on the essential management and leadership skills required to fulfil this challenging but rewarding role. The unit opens by focusing on the theoretical and practical approaches to developing, leading, and managing teams (remote or multi-disciplinary). Delegates will look at techniques to assess current and future team capabilities, including the role of recruitment, selection and staff development which supports this. On successful completion of the unit, delegates will not only know the principles of managing individuals and teams, but they will understand approaches for supporting, motivating and inspiring teams and individuals to exceed expectations.
Principles of delivering coaching and mentoring (CMI Level 5 Unit 507)
Coaching and mentoring are proven techniques used to enhance the skills, knowledge, talents and potential of individuals as part of an organisational learning and development strategy. This unit explores the principles and practices of delivering coaching and mentoring, and the impact these techniques can have in the development of a high-performance culture.
Conducting a Management Project (CMI Level 5 Unit 524)
The aim of the unit is for the delegate to conduct management research which will have an impact on organisational practice. Delegates will plan and manage a genuine project in the workplace relevant to an identified business need or challenge. This will include developing a project proposal for sign off from their organisation, agreeing scope, aims and objectives, research methodologies, stakeholder management, analysis and interpretation of findings. Culminating in evaluating options, and drawing conclusions and making recommendations.
Delegates will present their project at the final workshop (10) where their manager and other relevant parties will be invited to hear their presentations.
